Account Settings & Profile Management

Overview

Your Account Settings is where you manage personal information, preferences, subscription details, and security settings. This guide covers all aspects of account management in Sila TrueTrends.

Accessing Account Settings

  1. Click your profile icon (top right or sidebar)
  2. Select "Account Settings" from dropdown
  3. Or navigate to: [YourDomain]/settings
  4. Or use keyboard shortcut: Ctrl/Cmd + comma

Settings Layout

  • Left Navigation: Settings categories
  • Main Panel: Settings details
  • Save Button: Apply changes
  • Help Icons: Inline assistance

Profile Settings

Basic Information

Personal Details

Editable Fields:

  • Display Name: How you appear in the app
  • Email Address: Primary contact and login
  • Username: Unique identifier
  • Phone Number: Optional, for 2FA
  • Time Zone: For scheduling and timestamps

Profile Photo:

  • Click to upload new photo
  • Supported: JPG, PNG (max 5MB)
  • Recommended: Square, 400x400px
  • Can remove/reset to default

Professional Information

Optional Fields:

  • Job Title: Your role
  • Company: Organization name
  • Industry: Sector selection
  • Department: Team/division
  • Bio: Brief description

Email Notifications

Toggle on/off:

  • Account alerts
  • Security notifications
  • Product updates
  • Newsletter
  • Tips and tutorials
  • Research insights

Notification Frequency

  • Immediate: Real-time alerts
  • Daily Digest: Once per day summary
  • Weekly Summary: Weekly roundup
  • Monthly Report: Monthly overview
  • Never: No emails (not recommended)

Language & Regional

Language Settings

  • Interface Language: UI language
  • Content Language: Trend content
  • Date Format: MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY
  • Time Format: 12-hour or 24-hour
  • Number Format: Decimal separator

Regional Preferences

  • Country: Primary location
  • Currency: For pricing display
  • Units: Metric or Imperial
  • Week Start: Sunday or Monday

Security Settings

Password Management

Change Password

Requirements:

  1. Enter current password
  2. Enter new password:
    • Minimum 8 characters
    • One uppercase letter
    • One lowercase letter
    • One number
    • One special character (recommended)
  3. Confirm new password
  4. Click "Update Password"

Password Security

  • Last Changed: Date shown
  • Password Strength: Indicator bar
  • Force Logout: All devices option
  • Recovery Email: Backup email

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable 2FA

  1. Click "Enable 2FA"
  2. Choose method:
    • SMS: Text message
    • Authenticator App: Google/Microsoft
    • Email: Backup codes
  3. Verify setup
  4. Save backup codes

2FA Management

  • View active methods
  • Add backup methods
  • Regenerate backup codes
  • Disable 2FA (not recommended)

Security Log

Activity History

View recent:

  • Login attempts
  • Password changes
  • Settings modifications
  • Device access
  • API usage

For each entry:

  • Date/time
  • IP address
  • Location
  • Device type
  • Success/failure

Active Sessions

Device Management

See all active sessions:

  • Current device (marked)
  • Other devices
  • Last activity
  • Location
  • Browser/app

Actions:

  • Sign out specific device
  • Sign out all other devices
  • Block suspicious device

Subscription & Billing

Current Plan

Plan Details

Shows:

  • Plan name (Starter/Pro/Enterprise)
  • Monthly/Annual billing
  • Price and currency
  • Renewal date
  • Features included

Usage Statistics

  • Searches this month
  • Reports generated
  • API calls made
  • Storage used
  • Team members

Upgrade/Downgrade

Change Plan

  1. View available plans
  2. Compare features
  3. Select new plan
  4. Enter payment details
  5. Confirm change

Plan Changes

  • Upgrades: Immediate access
  • Downgrades: End of billing period
  • Refunds: Pro-rated credits
  • Data: Always preserved

Manage Payment

  • Set default payment

  • Remove payment method

Billing Address

  • Company name

Data Retention

  • Search history: 30/60/90 days/Forever
  • Chat history: 30/60/90 days/Forever
  • Export data: 7/30/90 days
  • Deleted items: 30 days recovery

Data Export

Export Your Data

Request full data export:

  1. Click "Export My Data"
  2. Select data types:
    • Profile information
    • Search history
    • Chat conversations
    • Saved trends
    • Reports generated
  3. Choose format (JSON/CSV)
  4. Receive via email

Account Deletion

Delete Account

Permanent deletion:

  1. Click "Delete Account"
  2. Provide reason (optional)
  3. Enter password
  4. Confirm deletion
  5. 30-day grace period

What happens:

  • Data marked for deletion
  • 30 days to recover
  • Email confirmation
  • Subscription cancelled
  • Data permanently removed
