Chat History Management Guide

Overview

Chat History in Sila TrueTrends automatically saves all your conversations, making it easy to review past insights, resume discussions, and manage your research. This guide covers everything about managing your chat history effectively.

Accessing Chat History

  1. Click "Chat History" in the sidebar
  2. Or navigate from an active chat session
  3. Direct URL: https://trends.silainsights.com/chat/history

Initial View

When you open Chat History, you'll see:

  • List of all conversations
  • Most recent conversations first
  • Preview of each conversation
  • Timestamps and key information

Conversation Cards

Each conversation displays:

  • Title/Preview: First message or auto-generated title
  • Date & Time: When conversation started
  • Message Count: Number of exchanges
  • Last Active: Most recent activity
  • Delete Button: Remove conversation

Layout Options

  • Grid View: Multiple cards per row
  • List View: Detailed single column
  • Compact View: More conversations visible
  • Toggle between views using view selector

Finding Conversations

Search Functionality

  1. Use the search bar at the top
  2. Enter keywords from your conversations
  3. Results update as you type
  4. Matches highlight in results

Search Tips

  • Search by topic keywords
  • Search by date references
  • Search by specific terms used
  • Use quotes for exact phrases

Filtering Options

Date Filters

  • Today: Current day's conversations
  • This Week: Last 7 days
  • This Month: Last 30 days
  • All Time: Complete history
  • Custom Range: Select specific dates

Other Filters

  • By persona used (if applicable)
  • By conversation length
  • By topic/category (if tagged)
  • Starred/Important conversations

Sorting Options

  • Most Recent (default)
  • Oldest First
  • Most Messages
  • Alphabetical
  • Last Modified

Managing Conversations

Resuming a Conversation

How to Resume

  1. Click on any conversation card
  2. Opens in chat interface
  3. Shows complete history
  4. Can immediately continue discussion

What's Preserved

  • All previous messages
  • Full context
  • AI memory of discussion
  • Any data or analysis shared

Deleting Conversations

Single Delete

  1. Hover over conversation card
  2. Click the delete icon (trash/X)
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. Conversation permanently removed

Warning: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

Privacy and Security

Data Retention

  • Conversations stored securely
  • Encrypted in database
  • Regular backups maintained
  • Comply with data policies

Privacy Controls

  • Only you can see your conversations
  • Not shared with other users
  • Can delete anytime
  • Export for local storage

Clearing History

Complete Clear:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find "Clear All History"
  3. Confirm action
  4. All conversations deleted
